Photo restoration and scanning is a specialty skill honed with years of practice and usage of the tools to repair photos. Berger PhotoPix has repaired hundreds of photos including mounted images that were spilt into two pieces, photos damaged by decades of exposure to cigarette smoke, fading, cracks, crinkles, tears, and even a prized photo nearly destroyed by an enthusiastic puppy (Photo on right or above).
My rates for restorations are determined on a case-by-case basis depending on what is required to repair the image. Emailing an image to bergerphotopix@gmail.com is a good way to start the quote process. I can usually see what is needed and can give you a quote pretty quickly. My rates are roughly $50 per hour and badly damaged photos can usually be repaired in three to four hours.
Scanning Scanning to digitize your collection of images is one of the best ways to bring the past into the present, and to preserve those photos in digital form forever. I have the tools for scanning high volumes of print photos up to 8x10 and a slower but very effective way to scan slides, specifically 35mm slides. I can also efficiently scan 35mm negatives. Larger film formats can also be digitized but the process is slower.

Prepare your photos. Are they in photo albums, frames, boxes, folders, etc. The photos should be organized and counted so you know what you have. Please, do not provide photos in frames or photo books. Berger PhotoPix does not want the responsibility to care for frames, or the damage that may result from removal from a photobook or scrapbook.
Figure out what you want. Do you want the image to only digitized and sent back to you as a digital file, or do you want prints made? The link to the online form has a price list for prints as well as a way to request what you want.
Contact Berger PhotoPix for a quote. You can do one of two things. Use the contact button below and send a message to inquire about a restoration or scanning job. You can also use the link below to an online form to fill out that details what you are hoping to have done. Both forms will be used to reach back out to you to deterimine the quote for the job.
Once the quote is approved by you, then delivery of the originals to Berger PhotoPix shoudl be figured out. For a travel fee, Berger PhotoPix can go anywhere in Southern California to pick up and return the work. The travel fee will be double because two trips may be needed. Images, negatives, and slides can also be mailed. Care will be needed as well as photo safe envelopes and a safe way to keep negatives and slides free of dust and scratches. It would be a shame to send perfect slides and negatives to have them get dirty or scratched in transit. Keep your prized images safe.
When I believe the work is complete, I will post your before and after examples of the images on my website for you to approve.
